The long-awaited Chanel Resort 2014 show has come and gone and Singapore was the lucky recipient of it. Find out why Karl Lagerfeld chose this particular location and how it represents the collection.

Speaking of prestigious events, The Met Gala didn’t leave a good impression on everyone. See what the highly opinionated Gwyneth Paltrow had to say about it. Think she’ll be invited back next year?

In other news, Target’s newest fall collaboration with Phillip Lim hits stores September 15. His 100-item collection will range in price from $19-$299.99.

In Memorium

Even though Isabella Blow died six years ago, her memory lives on. From November 20, 2013 through March 2, 2014, The Somerset House will display 100 pieces of her wardrobe, all of which are on loan from Daphne Guinness, who bought Blow’s entire wardrobe in 2010.

Speaking of late fashion greats, Missoni founder Ottavio Missoni died last week at the age of 92. This comes months after Vittorio Missoni’s disappearance while on vacation.

Shopping

First came Kilian Hennessey’s refillable perfume bottles and now, Serge Lutens has figured out refillable lipsticks! Though pricey, these little wonders aren’t just the perfect shades, they also serve as a lipstick and lip liner all in one, AND they help save the environment!

A trend with a longer lifespan, designers are creating “permanent” collections, pieces that will be available year-round and for years to come. Saint Laurent has created such a collection, which will be sold in their flagship store. Take a look at the collection here.

Handwritten notes are in vogue again, which means you need some chic stationery to go with it, like Ellen Weldon’s Bespoke Stationery line. If A-list stars tap her for her designs, you know it’s a “must-have.”
