Familiar storefronts in new locations, open today.

Sweetgreen salad kings Nicolas Jammet, Jonathan Neman and Nathaniel Ru have added another location to their growing veggie empire in Silver Spring, Md., next to Discovery Communications. To celebrate, they’re offering a “Pay What You Want” special until 4 p.m. Monday, July 15, with all proceeds benefiting FreshFarm Markets.
Following in Sweetgreen’s philosophy of sourcing local ingredients, the Silver Spring locale will be using ingredients from farms in Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania, including peaches from Chiles Peach Orchard, kale from Richardson Farms and goat cheese from Firefly Farm, according to a spokeswoman.
This is the local chain’s 19th location, with a 20th due to open in New York City’s swanky NoMad Hotel later this month.
