Washington, D.C. has been called many things, but its not often referenced as a fashion capital, or a premiere destination for wine. But this past Saturday, famed “America’s Next Top Model” judge Nigel Barker and DCanter owners Michael and Michelle Lim Warner combined forces to stake a claim for the District in both the sartorial and wine worlds. Barker was in town for his third book signing of his newly published “Models of Influence,” profiling 50 of the world’s most inspiring models from the 1940s to today. From spunky Twiggy to leading ladies like Cara Delevingne the eight-chapter book catalogues the trailblazing women behind the fashion revolution spanning the last 75 years.
DCanter, a modern wine boutique that recently launched a personalized wine delivery service in Washington, offered its intimate Tasting Room as the the backdrop for the bevy of fashionistas that turned out to celebrate Barker, while sipping selections from fashion capitals such as Milan, Paris and New York.
