Perfect weather, well dressed guests and stunning models graced the roof of Penthouse Pool Club at the Yards for the DC Swim Show Main Event. The pristine pool and comfortable lounge chairs provided the perfect venue for the biggest night of the show, and live musical performances by cellist Cyrus Reel and percussionist Kamajian set the mood. Designer lineups included Dar Be Dar by Tala Rassi, D’Milikah, Vizcaya Swimwear, Universal Gear, Estevez USA, Karo Swimwear and Stand Out Couture. All seven designers brought their own unique flair to the show; with the models showcasing everything from bikinis, to dresses, to swim trunks, the night had something for every taste.

Emcees Vincent De Paul and Katie Rost both spoke to the crowd during the evening, as did Princess Aliyah and Black Knight Events’ Jay Snap. Snap, who organized the DC Swim Show alongside Sara KhetarpalMoh Ducis, and Rich Shea, knows that D.C. is up and coming in the fashion world. When asked about how this year’s DC Swim Show reflected Washington’s new fashion presence, he said, “D.C. has gone through some major changes in the fashion scene…With the recent addition of the D.C. City Center and new designers emerging every day, DC Swim Show was just a sneak peek into what the city really holds.”

Anyone who missed the event this year need not worry – Snap says “DC Swim Show will become DC Swim Week (DSCW) next year and bring you an entire week of swimwear fashion and celebration.” Sounds like another great reason to look forward to summertime!
