The 8th annual Front Row fashion show, hosted by Federal Realty Investment Trust, took over Bethesda Row on Sunday, June 5 for sips, snacks and lots of shopping.
The all-day “Sunday Funday,” emceed by FOX5’s Laura Evans, raised $5,000 for the DC NewsBash for Breast Cancer charity, an organization founded in 2009, when members of the DC news industry came together to raise awareness and money for breast cancer causes.
The event featured the latest summer fashions, plus a special fall preview from select stores. Models danced up and down the runway in featured looks from area stores including Bonobos, Morley, Sassanova, J.McLaughlin, COURAGE B, Equinox, Wear it Well, Lucy, Lululemon, Francesca’s Collection, Pink Palm, Luna, Kit and Ace and Calypso St. Barth.
After the show, guests were able to shop ’til they dropped with sales up and down the Row, and exclusive in-store after parties. Select boutiques offered complimentary fittings and gifts, while others had champagne and snacks. Restaurants including Redwood Restaurant & Bar opened their doors for a “fashionably late” happy hour to follow the festivities.
It was “a perfect day for fashion… a high energy show featuring some of the best summer styles,” said fashion blogger Deanna Bobbi. “It was great to go to a show, and actually see things that come straight off the runway.”
Among the high-profile attendees spotted were ABC7 anchors Autria Godfrey and Jummy Olabanji, NBC4 anchor Angie Goff, FOX5 anchor Shawn Yancy, FOX5 reporter Alexandra Limon, NBC4 meteorologist Lauryn Ricketts and WUSA9 anchor Andrea Roane.
