Beauty retailer Bluemercury opens at Cathedral Commons

Bluemercury, a luxury cosmetics retailer, has opened another store in the Washington area, this time at Cathedral Commons on Wisconsin Avenue.
Co-founders and CEOs Barry and Marla Beck welcomed VIP guests and members of the Washington Ballet’s Women’s Committee to the grand-opening on June 1. Attendees chatted with champagne and Georgetown Cupcakes in hand.
The Washington Ballet received 20 percent of the celebration’s proceeds.

The opening marked Bluemercury’s 14th store in the Washington area and 95th nationwide. The company’s first store opened Georgetown in 1999.
Last year, the Becks sold Bluemercury to retail giant Macy’s, but continue to lead the company.
The new store is located at 3320 Wisconsin Ave, N.W.
