Washington, D.C. conjured up a bit of Hogwarts magic on opening night of ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ at the National Theatre, where devoted fans gathered to celebrate the much-anticipated arrival of the Tony Award-winning production.
Die-hard Potterheads sported Gryffindor scarves, Slytherin ties, and wand holsters worthy of Ollivanders. Kids and adults alike delighted in collecting buttons at the door, each proudly proclaiming house values like “Wisdom” (Ravenclaw), “Ambition” (Slytherin), “Loyalty” (Hufflepuff), and “Bravery” (Gryffindor).
Inside the historic National Theatre, the magic didn’t stop at the costumes. With jaw-dropping stage illusions, elegant choreography by Steven Hoggett, and a beautiful score arranged by Imogen Heap, ‘Cursed Child’ weaves the next chapter in the Potter saga. The story follows Harry’s son, Albus, on a time-traveling journey that challenges the past and tests the legacy of the Boy Who Lived.
