Challenge your palate (and your stomach!) and try Poste Moderne Brasserie‘s ’20 bites’ at the kitchen counter every evening.
By Katie Test
Chef Robert Weland takes it back to the farm with a new dining experience, 20 bites. Belly up to the restaurant’s counter and take a stab into 20 small bites representative of the autumn and winter dinner menus at Poste Moderne Brasserie. Much like locovore favorite experiences, ‘Market to Market’ and ‘Poste Roasts,’ ‘20 Bites’ features sustainable and organic ingredients from local farmers, including those from the Penn Quarter FreshFarm Market.
Fun miniature dishes like a cone of tuna tartare topped with caviar deck the menu.
Adventurous eaters are welcome here, the crispy envelope of pig’s trotter served with hen egg, frisée, whole grain mustard sauce is divine, but not for the faint of heart.
Chef Weland‘s presentations are always creative, a warm egg comes served in a perfectly cut egg shell, topped with head cheese, and scallops arrive with accouterments balanced carefully on top. Not to be missed? The mini foie gras terrine served on toasted brioche.
‘20 Bites’ is available every evening, and costs per person, exclusive of beverages, tax and gratuity.
Space is limited to four guests only, and reservations are required.
