Society 2.0: This Week’s Top #Winning Tweets

by Editorial

Despite big Oscar wins, the launch of the iPad 2, and Camp Freddy at 9:30 Club, Twitter was preoccupied this week with #tigerblood, #winning, and Charlie Sheen. Here are some of the week’s best tweets.

The week started out per usual this awards season with our Tweetdeck buzzing about the Oscars.

@cheeky_geeky: Follow anybody on Twitter for updates about the Oscars.

@glamazondiaries: OMG! @jamesfranco that dress is not very flattering but you are pretty in pink. Gentlemen might prefer blondes but I like you as a brunette

@nikkischwab: So the only surprise was that James Franco arrived stoned? #Oscars

@THERealLyndaDC: So is that Christian Bales new wife or the one filing for divorce based on ‘you forgot my name’? how embarrassing !

@ezraklein: Helen mirren looks like Kathleen sebelius. #beenindctoolong

@TheOnion: Stay tuned for the official Republican rebuttal to the #Oscars shortly after the show

@charliesheen: Winning..! Choose your Vice... #winning #chooseyourvice http://twitpic.com/455ly9

Although some may have thought that the launch of the iPad 2 on Wednesday would be trending for a while…

@vermontgmg: The surprise appearance of Jobs at iPad event vastly outpaces the surprise appearance of POTUS at briefing, in my Twitter feed at least.

…it turned out that we couldn’t (and still can’t) get the attention away from this week’s most-tweeted-about celebrity: Charlie Sheen.

@mdornic: Can someone PLEASE invite @charliesheen 2 WHCD? @jaketapper? @chucktodd? I promise to entertain the godesses throughout dinner.

@pwgavin: @CharlieSheen‘s to-do list. 1.) Bring back the word “bitchin.'” [check]. 2.) Bring back “talk to the hand.'” [Pending]

@daveweigel: Folks, don’t let the Twitter avatar fool you: I am not Charlie Sheen.#snortscocaineandpunchesallama

There were some surprises in store for fans at last night’s Camp Freddy concert at 9:30 Club…

@sweetgreen: JUST ANNOUNCED! The Strokes are headlining the Sweetlife Festival 2011 at Merriweather Post Pavilion on 4/30. Presale here: bit.ly/sw3etlife
