The Seasonal Pantry unveils its winter lineup of supper clubs.
By Nevin Martell
Pop-up restaurants are passé and food trucks have jumped the shark. The freshest and most fun new dining trend is the supper club.
Mount Vernon Square’s hippest gastro destination, the Seasonal Pantry, 1314 1/2 9th St. NW, has just rolled out the details on the series of intimate dinners that it will be hosting in the new year.
The weekend of January 26-28 finds the market-eatery presenting a four-course dinner, starring smoked duck, cumin gnocchi, cabbage elevated with short ribs, and dessert.
The following weekend of February 2-4, the quartet of dishes will include Indian-spiced steamed snapper, a playful salad inspired by Buffalo chicken wings, a Far Eastern smoked pork belly and a sweet finale.
Following these events, the Seasonal Pantry will be offering a special Valentine’s Day menu for the weekend of February 9-11 and takeout-only steamed Chinese bao buns on February 17 and 18.
Maybe the best part? You don’t need to follow a Twitter feed to find out where they are.
