Washington Life’s 2003 Social List recognizes the many people who chair, host or attendevery year’s plethora of private parties, fundraisers, balls and galas, art openings, bookparties and movie premiers. Political and professional, new and old residents, powerfuljournalists and generous philanthropists are all represented. The list was put together bya secret committee of five. Only one vote is needed to remove a name and a majority is neededto add someone to the list. They are desirable not only as hosts but also as guests at thecities’ premier events or dinner parties.
