ON A MISSION: Washington philanthropists joined forces for the evening’s patriotic “wish upon a star” themed-event to celebrate raising more than $2 million for Charityworks’ 2008 beneficiary, Fisher House, in the past year. FULL SALUTE: With the help of event co-chairs George and Marilyn Pedersen as well as host sponsor CSC (represented by Michael Laphen), CharityWorks realized its goal to fund a new Fisher House on the grounds of Veterans Medical Center. It will be a “home away from home” for families of military men and women receiving medical care at the Center.
