Jane Franklin Dance performs at Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company, on Sunday June 14 at 2 pm and 5 pm in Travel Tales, a concert recalling dances from the past 12 years.

Travel Tales is a journey through dance, media and text created in partnership with some of the area’s most significant artists. Shorthanded is a homage to the ‘pink slip’ and modes of rejection. Crystal City Walk explores the urban/suburban with still photos by Ray Gniewek, music by GWU Jazz Faculty Peter Fraize, and a cast of 13 dancers. The Floor is Sticky, by Washington DC poet Kim Roberts translates that same phrase (The Floor is Sticky) into German, French, Alsatian, etc. or ‘every language in which its countrymen (its women) drink beer in bars.’ Hiding Pink Panther is performed alongside pastel animations by Becky Heavner that are in full view. In the Blink of an Eye employs media by artist Gail Scott White, GMU Faculty, to tell a tale of near catastrophy in the difference of a few seconds.
