SOME AUCTION AND DINNER DANCE
What to Expect: The annual SOME gala continues to feature a silent auction and dinner dance after over 20 years to benefit So Others Might Eat and is attended by Washington leaders in support of the organization’s commitment to bettering life for the homeless and underprivileged by providing affordable housing, job training, addiction treatment, and counseling.
Date: Wednesday, December 2; 6 p.m., cocktails and silent auction; 7 p.m., dinner

The Nutcracker Party at THEARC
What to Expect: Attend Septime Webre’s unique version of The Nutcracker performed by The Washington Ballet professional dance company at THEARC Theater. Following the performance, attend a holiday reception for featuring holiday refreshments, music, and interactive holiday activities for kids and parents. All proceeds benefit the Town Hall Education Arts & Recreation Campus.

KENNEDY CENTER HONORS
What to Expect: Celebrities descend on Washington for one of the biggest cultural nights of the year, and the President and First Lady Michelle Obama take their seats for the first time to honor those chosen for the awards. In addition to the gala performance in the Kennedy Center Opera House, the honorees are treated to a White House reception and a banquet at the State Department.

THE WASHINGTON BALLET’S NUTCRACKER TEA PARTY

What to Expect: A long-standing tradition, The Washington Ballet’s Nutcracker Tea Party is held at the lavish Willard Intercontinental Hotel after an early afternoon performance of Septime Webre’s The Nutcracker. Guests enjoy sweet treats as they mingle with the stars of the production, and each child leaves with a special gift.

THE CHORAL ARTS SOCIETY HOLIDAY CONCERT & GALA
