February 5—The Fairfax Symphony Orchestra (FSO) presents “Amore! An Evening of Italian Love Songs,” its annual Valentine Pops Gala and fund-raiser. ABC 7 personality Doug McKelway hosts at the Hilton McLean Tysons Corner.
After the large silent auction and a sumptuous dinner, the audience is treated to Italian arias performed by tenor Robert Petillo (known to local audiences from appearances with the Washington Bach Consort and the Folger Consort) and soprano Jeanine Thames (who has sung in New York, Paris, Berlin and Tel Aviv) accompanied by the FSO.
