Carpenter received her big break after performing for years in Washington, DC clubs with friend and producer John Jennings. Their recording, Hometown Girl, was Carpenter’s debut album in 1987.
Her latest album, Come Darkness, Come Light, features six original Christmas tunes and was released in 2008.
