Guests descended a gently curved staircase and mingled in the main room lit by soft lights reflecting off blonde wood. An expanse of windows provided a unimpeded view of a nighttime hillside still covered in the remnants of the recent blizzards.
Guests also enjoyed an open bar and a buffet featuring regional food prepared by the ambassador’s chef Mikko Kosonen.
Philippa Hughes’ Pink Line Project provided the entertainment for the night. DJ John Bowen aka Video Killers set the mood with 80s hits, video clips and chill beats. There were also performances by local hip-hop artist Christylez Bacon and members of CityDance Ensemble.
In attendance was Greg Kats, the author of Greening Our Built World, who said, “The question is no longer why would you do a green building; it’s why would you not do a green building. This is our future – it’s a hopeful future, a richer future.
” And presenting the LEED Gold award was Chris Smith, the COO of the U.S. Green Business Council.
Congratulations to our friends at the Embassy of Finland!
