Formed in 2008 and originating in Washington, DC, Solar Powered Sun Destroyer has been described as “breathing life back into the Dead City underground with a formidable live show that includes three guitarists, a light array and epic sounding songs that combine avant garde ambience and genre-defying riffage with (gasp) melody,” by Culture Mob DC.

Combining three layers of guitar work, an explosive yet patient rhythm section, distorted keys and beats, violin bows, a vast array of effects and a strong vocal section that is equally abrasive as it is soothing, Last Days of Empire delivers a sight to be seen in a live setting, and provide a fresh take on an emerging sub-genre. Their latest self-released effort, titled Black Armband Holiday, was co-produced, engineered, and mixed by Jesse Cannon (The Cure) at Cannon Found Soundation Recording Studios in New Jersey and Carriage House Recording Studios in Connecticut (Deftones, Pixies), and was mastered in New York by Alan Douches.

Doors open 30 minutes prior (6:30pm). Cash bar and light fare available.
