Media ladies and gents adorned in their finest pink garb turned out to the Newsbabes for Breast Cancer Bash at the Ritz-Carlton Georgetown to raise money for the Susan G.
Komen foundation.

Local newsbabes Andrea Roane (WUSA), Angie Goff (WUSA), Lindsay Czarniak (NBC4), Eun Yang (NBC 4) and Sue Palka (FOX5) and other media mavens turned out in droves to the Newsbabes for Breast Cancer Bash, held at the Ritz-Carlton, Georgetown. An army of pink flooded the gorgeous hotel, as media moguls rubbed elbows, while enjoying Cosmopolitans and pink-themed snacks.
Guests snacked on chocolate basil truffles (trust me, as a chocolate lover, I was mildly insulted when I was told the ingredients of this concoction but they were truly delicious), as well as a cherry-flavored cotton candy. The atmosphere was light and airy, as a beautiful spring evening fell upon the District. However over in
the actual bar section, a DJ was placed and the dim atmosphere provided some newsbabes to get their Lilly Pulitzer grooves on. The event was thrown to raise money for the Susan G. Komen foundation, and the foundation founder, Nancy Brinker was in attendance, as well as D.C. First Lady, Michelle Fenty. For a admission fee, partygoers got a Cosmo, unlimited cotton candy and were able to wear their brightest pink dress to a happy hour without fear of public scorn, all while donating to breast cancer research- I’d say that’s my kind of event.
