As the sun set on Constitution Avenue Monday evening, players, coaches and friends from D.C. United and A.C. Milan gathered for a cocktail reception at D.A.R. Constitution Hall’s O’Byrne Gallery. Catered by Café Milano and sponsored by Chopard, the reception was a kick off for a friendly between the two teams this Wednesday night at RFK Stadium.
“We watch them on TV and read about them, but to step onto the field with them is an awesome opportunity for our players,” D.
C. United Assistant Coach Kris Kelderman said.
“It’s always a priority for our club to compete against the best clubs in the world,” Doug Hicks, Sr. Vice President, Marketing Communications for D.C. United said. “A.C. Milan is one of the most respected soccer brands in Europe and will provide a great match for our fans, as well as a great learning experience for our players.”
Tickets are still available for tonight’s game through D.C. United‘s website, www.dcunited.com.
