What to Expect: For the first time, Step Afrika! is inviting patrons into their world of college tours, international and domestic travel, creativity, arts education, elation and moments of awakening through the theme of “ACCESS GRANTED: Step Afrika! Homecoming 2010”. Accompanied by a violinist and a collage of multimedia entries, the audience is granted “access” to members of the company as each perfects their role as an instrument in precise, percussive symphony, creating a veritable wall of sound through the syncopated interplay of hands, feet, and voice; crisscrossing through Canada, Minnesota, Chile, Madagascar, Zimbabwe, South Africa and Chicago.
