In order to help abused women secure life-changing careers and economic independence, Second Chance Employment Services is holding its annual “Last Kiss of Summer” charity gala on September 23 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Georgetown. Founded by Dr. Ludy Green in 1991, Second Chance is America’s only private nonprofit agency focused on helping victims of domestic violence to re-enter the workforce and attain financial freedom for their families. The funds raised at the event will support programs that provide free employment placement and training services for abused women and their children in the Washington, DC metro region.
The gala will include hors d’oeuvres, a sit-down dinner, martinis and dancing throughout the night!
The Event Keynote will be presented by Katie Hnida, the first women to ever start a game for the Colorado University football team.
Katie was a victim of sexual assault during her time at Colorado, as an activist and author she now travels the country raising awareness for issues surrounding violence against women.
