At its recent Celebration of Giving event, The Community Foundation for Montgomery County was joined by more than 300 county residents, business representatives, elected officials, professional wealth advisors and leaders of the County’s premier nonprofits to celebrate those who “give where we live.”  Among those who turned out in support of the organization were County Executive Isiah Leggett, Catherine Leggett, Barbara Bainum, Craig Ruppert, and Ambassador Connie Morella.

This year, The Community Foundation proudly honored Carol Trawick as the 2010 Philanthropist of the Year. Trawick  was presented with a Congressional Citation from Congressman Christopher Van Hollen, represented at the event by Sara Rosen. The event truly lived up to its name- it was a way to celebrate the tremendous efforts made by local people to give back to their communities.
