The Source debuts Triple Crown inspired drinks for horse racing season.
By Nevin Martell
You know it’s springtime when Triple Crown odds start becoming a popular conversation topic. To help lubricate those discussions, The Source is debuting a trio of new cocktails that are inspired by this holy trinity of horse races – the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness Stakes and the Belmont Stakes.
The Green-Eyed Geisha woos tipplers with a heady blend of Smirnoff, 10 Cane rum, OJ, yuzu juice and basil, while the Bangkok Breeze blows away drinkers with its pleasing mix of Absolut Citron, Domaine de Canton ginger liqueur and lemon juice. The third contender, the Shiso Julep, uses the mint-like shiso leaf instead of the traditional mint, which puts an Asian accent on this Southern standard. The drinks are available from May 1 through June 15 for $12 each.
