A new royal fashionista to watch, dresses made out of food, rocking collaborations … and a photobooth.
By Nichole Devolites

This week brings a mashup of fashion news from across the globe, as we transition into the summer months, preparing for long weekends (and parties) in the Hamptons, Miami and Ibiza, just to name a few.

Last week, the Monaco Grand Prix was in full-swing and the future Princess Charlene Wittstock was of course, in attendance.  See the classy, yet ever-so-stylish pieces of Akris she wore, during the festivities.

What we will NOT see on a future royal, or any celebrity for that matter (except maybe Lady Gaga) are a new line of “clothing” made entirely by cheese.  A group of students from Bath Spa University made five creations, called “Cheese Couture Catwalk”.

What does have potential to be a great collection?  Lilly Allen’s new fashion line.  She quit the music biz to start this vintage line with her sister, Sarah.

…and speaking of celebrities designing, Andy Roddick is now designing a line of tennis gear for Lacoste.  It’s only fitting, since he has been their spokesperson for the last six years.

Collaborations are not just pairing athletic, stage, film or musical talent with fashion anymore.  Fashion has presented a new trend of collaborating with megastores, such as Target.  The latest: Missoni.  Get a sneak peek at the campaign that was being shot for this new line.

… and this isn’t the only new pairing.  It is rumored that Diane von Furstenberg is collaborating with Gap for a new children’s line that will possibly launch for spring/summer 2012.

Finally, what would summer be without a beauty collaboration?  It has been announced that Chris Benz has collaborated with Lancome, once again, to design a beauty totefree with purchase of $60 or more. The promotion is exclusive to Saks Fifth Avenue and will take place from June 14 – 25.  Check out the tote here.

It seems that once a week, another major designer has been interviewed, giving everyone a sneak peek into their lives.  This week: Marc Jacobs.  Read the short version here.

We love a good, compelling ad campaign – one that visually sweeps you up into a scene, right out of Paris, Monaco or even Rome.  This time, Chanel has created visual works of art in… a photobooth.  Check out the latest campaign here.

… and speaking of ad campaigns, Tiffany’s is back and they’ve produced an ad campaign that some have seen blaze across their movie screens.  Tiffany’s new True Love campaign proves to tug at your emotions, as well as your wallets.

Fashion News from Around the Globe
