Fruity treats to beat the summer heat
As record-high temperatures spread across the country, it can be hard to sit back and enjoy the summer days. With these chilling drinks, however, you can feel refreshed and ready to take on the heat.
Pisco Sour
3 parts Macchu Pisco Brandy
2 parts lemon juice
1 egg white
1 ½ parts sugar
Ice cubes
3-4 drops Angostura Bitters
Add ingredients to a shaker with ice. Shake until the ice melts and serve in a cocktail glass.
Grey Goose L’Orange Summer Tea
1 ½ parts Grey Goose L’Orange Flavored Vodka
3 parts freshly brewed ice tea
¼ simple syrup
4 mint leaves
In the bottom of a shaker, muddle mint leaves and simple syrup. Add remaining ingredients and ice, and shake vigorously. Pour, ice and all, into a tall glass. Present with a sprig of mint and an orange slice.
Blackberry Gin Fizz
2 parts Oxley Classic English Dry Gin
½ part fresh lime juice
2 parts blackberries
Finish with club soda
Muddle blackberries in a shaker, then add Oxley and lime juice. Shake over ice. Pour into a rocks glass with fresh ice.
Top with club soda, and garnish with a blackberry.
Frozen Apple Margarita
1 ½ parts
José Cuervo Tequila
1 part apple liqueur
2 parts sweet and sour mix
Blend with appropriate quantity of ice until smooth. Serve in a margarita glass. Garnish with an apple slice.
