Sometimes you have to fight for a good cause, sometimes you just need to fire up the barbecue. At Brainfood’s 5th Annual Grill-Off and Fundraiser, teams of program graduates, amateur cooks and local chefs – including 1789’s Daniel Giusti, Birch & Barley’s Kyle Bailey, Cure’s Kevin Villalovos and Granville Moore’s Teddy Folkman – compete in an Iron Chef-styled contest using a pantry full of secret ingredients. Proceeds from the event will fund Brainfood’s Community MVP program, which empowers youth to teach their peers to eat and cook healthy food.
The showdown takes place on Thursday, September 15 from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. at the Decatur House on Lafayette Square. There will also be an auction for top tier prizes, including private dinners with some of the participating chefs.
Tickets are $75 per person, which entitles the bearer to hors d’oeuvres, buffet, wine tasting, open bar and the right to cheer loudly for their favorite contestant. Click here to buy tickets online now.
