Prepare yourself for a full weekend of couture brought to you by ReadysetDC.

We all know Versace, Marc Jacobs, and Louis Vuitton by their trademark symbols alone- but how familiar are you with local designers? Enter ReadysetDC and Fashion District Fall 2011, their fourth annual runway show that will feature emerging talent from the local fashion scene. With events spanning a whole weekend from October 14-16, soon the names of local designers Cote Minou, Espion, and Artaya will be just as familiar to you as Philip Lim.
The event will feature a runway show where models will strut in the clothes of featured designers like Ginger Root Design and Derringer Friday. But unlike most shows, Fashion District gives you the chance to shop for the clothes you see on the runway- and even get them at a discount. In addition to purchasing designer duds, several local boutiques will be joining the fun by offering steep discounts to Fashion District guests. Talk about a reason to break out your wallet!
As if that weren’t enough to capture your interest, ReadysetDC has also organized a cocktail hour with the weekend’s featured designers. You can sip cocktails and get a sneak peek at the clothes while asking designers about their inspirations- what could be better for a dedicated Fashionista?
The meet and greet with designers will take place on Friday, followed by the fashion show on Saturday and shopping deals on Sunday for one haute weekend from October 14-16. Tickets for the fashion show can be purchased here, but the meet and greet ant the shopping are open to all those with a passion for fashion. So put on your highest heels and watch as DC becomes a Fashion District.
