Culinary club The Coterie begins welcoming members for exclusive events.
By Nevin Martell

The culinary club will host exclusive Black-Box Tastings, Salon Dinners and Fireside Cocktails.

Members only jackets are definitely not cool, but members only dining clubs are the epitome of hip. The District’s latest exclusive culinary clique is The Coterie, which creates one-of-a-kind epicurean experiences like Black-Box Tastings. For these singular events, chefs at partner restaurants, including Fiola, PS 7’s, Birch & Barley, 701, Bibiana, as well as chef Frederik de Pue of 42 Degrees Catering will create exclusive off-menu tastings for members. The seasonally inspired meals will reflect larger, TBD themes selected by The Coterie.

The group will also host a series of monthly Fireside Cocktails and quarterly Salon Dinners, where members can hang out with “a select cadre of authors, academics, and policymakers.” Of course, there will also be special cocktails and cuisine to accompany the meeting and mingling. We don’t recommend you attend one wearing a members only jacket, unless you can pull off the ironic hipster shtick.
