Already a well-known expert among society’s sartorial circles, and viewers of “America’s Next Top Model,” Simon Doonan can now add ‘lifestyle guru’ to his list of titles. The author, TV personality, and creative ambassador-at-large for retail giant Barney’s recently stopped by the W Washington D.C. hotel to sign copies of his latest book, Gay Men Don’t Get Fat. Doonan’s husband, home décor designer Jonathan Adler, and 200 of his closest fans gathered for the literary soiree in the hotel’s Altitude Ballroom February 1st. The beats of DJ Shea Van Horn, floral walls by H.BLOOM, décor by Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, specialty cocktails, and, of course, a selection of the healthy “gay food” Doonan claims are the secret behind many a svelte gay man, all helped the multi-talented author earn yet another (temporary) title: Life of the Party.
