Vidalia debuts a happy hour bar bites and specialty cocktail menu.
By Nevin Martell
Whoever invented happy hour was a freakin’ genius. What better way to end a long day at the office than discounted drinks and savory snacks?
Yeah, we couldn’t think of anything better either.
To help you get your happy hour on, Vidalia is stepping up to the plate with some delicious delectables. The new bar bites menu places an emphasis on Southern favorites.
The reimagined BLT piles Benton’s bacon and romaine lettuce on brioche with slathers of creamy pimento cheese aioli and tomato jam, while pork confit is heaped on to a potato bun and topped with hot slaw.
There’s also more adventuresome fare, such as pickled pig trotters with a mound of warm potato salad and zingy Creole mustard, and pickled egg accompanied by purple rounds of beets and truffled mayo.
Wash down these small plates with cocktails made with soda classics from below the Mason-Dixon Line, such as cherry-flavored Cheerwine, RC Cola, gingery Ale-8-One, Frostie Root Beer and Bleinheim’s Hot and Spicy Ginger Ale.
The small plates and specialty cocktails are available at Happy Hour on Monday through Friday from 5–7 p.
