Sound the horns – the horse racing months are upon us. It’s that time of year where dainty dresses and large-and-in-charge hats come back into season. But, while some of us know how to dress appropriately, it seems the UK still has a fashion problem, regardless of the guidelines that were set last year. Check out some of the rather amusing fashion choices that have already debuted.

Speaking of do’s and don’ts, last week I relayed an article about the controversy over prom wear. This week, a new article has come out on why prom dresses have become so risqué. Honestly, TV isn’t the culprit – it’s the parents who let their daughters dress this way that needs attention.

But, risqué goes with prom like chewing gum goes with shoplifting. See how the two didn’t mix for one very unlucky shoplifter.

What you can steal? Inspiration – at least that’s what Guess is saying in its lawsuit with Gucci. To take matters further, Guess states that it wasn’t in the business of “confusing” customers. I’ll be honest, if you can’t distinguish between the two brands AND you think you’re getting a “steal,”  chances are it’s Guess or a knockoff. But, I guess it can be confusing if you don’t know the difference in “shading.” Yes, they spent 45 minutes in the courtroom discussing shading.

What’s OK for inspiration? Online social fashion boards, including this new one that Rachel Zoe has invested in. And while we’re on the subject, see what rarely worn clothing item inspires Miuccia Prada.

One57 may easily be one of the priciest places to live. It’s home to many of the world’s top CEOs and possibly, this well-known designer. With such wealth, I wonder if he will tap Karl Lagerfeld to design his helicopter? … and if they need new décor for their dwelling, Jason Wu can help. His collection has now launched.

While in New York, don’t miss the basement at Macy’s in Herald Square. (Cue: “We Didn’t Start the Fire.” Also, something of note: Salvatore Ferragamo’s new Fifth Avenue Flagship store.

Now let’s jet set to Paris for a second. See what France’s First Lady likes to do “for fun”.

Hankering for a new low-budget collaboration? Target has one on the way! See which designer is up next.

Athletes are known to partake in many rather feminine “activities,” calling them “medical procedures” for their sport. See what the newest trend is. All I can say is: fellas, it’s OK to not hide your ballet and yoga classes as well.
