Right in the heart of Hollywood’s awards season, “Tracy’s Kids” took over the Regal Theatre Gallery Place for their annual “And The Winner Is…”

For the sixth time, guests walked the red carpet before choosing to see one of the seven nominated films screened in the heart of Hollywood’s award season. Guests had the chance to enjoy the glamour of a Hollywood premiere and see one of the films nominated for a coveted award, including:
- The Social Network, winner of the Golden Globe for Best Director, Best Drama, Best Screenplay and Best Original Score;
- The King’s Speech, winner of the Directors Guild Award for best feature film, and nominated for 12 Academy Awards including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actor;
- True Grit, featuring Hailee Steinfield, winner of the Critics Choice award for Best Young Actor/Actress, and nominated for ten Academy Awards including best picture, best director and best actor;
- Black Swan, featuring Natalie Portman, winner of the Screen Actors Guild Award and Golden Globe for Best Actress in a drama;
- Toy Story 3, winner of the Producers Guild Award for Outstanding Producer of An Animated Theatrical Motion Picture;
- Despicable Me, Nominated for the Producer’s Guild award for Outstanding Animated Theatrical Motion Picture and the Annie for Best Animated Feature and Best Music in an Animated Feature; and
- The Town, Nominated for the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor (Jeremy Renner) and the Critics’ Choice Award for Best Picture.

Producers David L. Cohen, Matt Gerson, and Preston Padden took to the microphones as they welcomed Red Carpet Guests including Hon. Patrick Leahy, Hon. Mike Pence, Hon. Al Franken, Hon. Lamar Smith, and Hon. Mark Warner. This year’s Courage Award was presented to The Honorable Sue Myrick, a breast cancer survivor who co-chairs the House Cancer Caucus. The Courage Award recognizes a public person who exemplifies the strength, dignity and perseverance necessary to face those challenges. Previous award winners include Hon. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Hon. John McCain, Hon. Tim Johnson & Barbara Johnson, Marcelle Leahy, and Hon. Arlen Specter.
“And the Winner Is…” supports the extraordinary program that helps young cancer patients cope with the emotional stress and trauma of cancer and its treatment. “Tracy’s Kids” — which began at the Lombardi Cancer Center in 1991 and is based on the model developed there — employs Master’s trained, Board Certified art therapists to address the multi-faceted needs of children with cancer through art and play therapy. The program is also offered at Children’s National Medical Center, Children’s Fairfax Clinic, and Fairfax Inova Hospital.
