While the economy may be in a bit of a stalemate, it’s not such a bad time to be an entrepreneur in the capital. In honor of Global Entrepreneurship Week, the D.C. Government’s Planning & Economic Development Office is hosting the second annual DC Entrepreneurship Week, an entire week-full of speeches by high level startup CEO’s like Ted Leonsis, the vice chairman emeritus of AOL and the founder, chairman and CEO of Monumental Sports & Entertainment, and majority owner of the Washington Capitals, Wizards and Mystics.

There will be friendly competitions to spur innovation, and a slew of networking meetings to help you get in touch with local collaborators and willing investors. There will also be a whole host of round table pitch sessions to encourage giant brainstorms among like-minded people. So while now might not seem like the time to own a startup, it’s certainly looking like the time to innovate.
