The Women’s Center 35th Anniversary Gala

by Public User Archive

In 1974, The Women’s Center broke new ground by venturing into a unique endeavor – one that focused on having a place for women with career counseling and workshops. Founders Joan Alden Parks and Peggy Lockhart called it the Northern Virginia Information and Career Counseling Center for Women. As time went by, the Center evolved and created a very special niche for itself within the Northern Virginia and DC community. It became the resource that everyone knew about – a resource dedicated to addressing the diverse needs of women and families through financial, legal, career; psychological and domestic violence services as well as a wide variety of education programs – all on an ability to pay basis.

Over these many years we have offered thousands upon thousands of hours of service for thousands of clients. We have made an impact on so many lives through our counseling, career, financial and education programs. It has been our honor to serve our community. We look forward to continuing for another thirty-five years!

Please join us to celebrate our 35th Anniversary by being a part of it and help make someone else’s journey a successful one.
