Getting her start during the disco craze in the mid-’70s, Summer surpassed the genre by continually putting out No. 1 Dance Singles for more than 3 decades, from “Bad Girls” and “Hot Stuff” in 1979 to 3 songs from her 2008 release, Crayons: “Fame,” “Stamp Your Feet,” and “I’m a Fire.”
