Get your camera filters and best spring outfits ready because peak bloom is around the corner! Here are a few of our favorite events surrounding this much beloved annual event (for more details on all these events, visit nationalcherryblossomfestival.org):

  • Pink-Tie Party: Revelers can look forward to a night of festivities surrounding all things pink. Guests will enjoy bites from local restaurants, an open bar and a silent auction. March 20, Ronald Reagan Building & International Trade Center, 7 p.m.-11:00 p.m., tickets $225, hospitality packages available starting at $2,500.
  • National Cherry Blossom Festival Opening Ceremony: The event features musical and dance performances to celebrate the gift of trees from Japan to the United States. March 21, Warner Theater, 5:00 p.m.-6:30 p.m., tickets are free, premium tickets available with $15 donation.
  • Blossom Kite Festival: Grab a kite and don’t forget to look up as the sky gets dotted with thousands of kites against a backdrop of the capital’s historic landmarks. March 28, Grounds of the Washington Monument. Free.
  • Petalpalooza: This day-long celebration features live music and interactive art installations capped off with a fireworks display. April 11, The Wharf, 1:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m. Free.
